Walkway and sidewalk pricing
Our standard-finish concrete walkway and sidewalk installation costs $8 to $12 per square foot. To calculate the installation range, multiply the planned square footage by $8 and by $12. This is pricing for a standard finish, not a stamped or decorative finish.
Layout and site conditions
We use mason’s string and stakes to establish the walkway layout. Our site-work equipment includes a sod cutter and shovel.
We do not assume harbor-side ground conditions match an inland yard. At Hoaloha Park by Kahului Harbor, the mapped fill soil has low shrink-swell potential but is occasionally flooded, and the park is in a FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area. Low shrink-swell potential does not mean a site is free from flooding.

Placing and edging the concrete
We dampen the gravel base without leaving standing water, then place and spread the concrete within the forms. We screed it to the intended profile and use an edger along the forms.
Kahului’s wettest month is January, averaging about 3.6 inches of rain; June is the driest, averaging about 0.6 inches. We distinguish between deliberately dampening the gravel and leaving standing water before placement.
How It Works
-

Written Estimate
You get the scope and the price in writing before any work starts. No surprises.
Some of what that looks like in the field:
- Stake out the walkway, run mason’s string to mark its edges, and set the intended slope.
