Consolidating Concrete at the Forms
We consolidate concrete at the form edges by tamping. For larger placements, we use a vibrating screed or an internal vibrator. Consolidation is a separate step from leveling the surface; striking off the top does not replace it.
Leveling and Finishing the Pour
We strike off and level the concrete with a lumber or metal screed, using the forms as a guide. As we move across the pour, we fill low spots rather than pass over them and leave the surface uneven.
Our finishing tools include a bull float, darby and steel trowel. We distinguish this surface work from the consolidation and screeding steps so you know what each part of the placement involves.

How It Works
-
Reach Out
A two-minute call is enough to tell us what we're working with and what to check first.
-
We Take a Look
A tech inspects the problem in person, no guessing from photos, no drive-by quotes.
-
Written Estimate
You get the scope and the price in writing before any work starts. No surprises.
Depending on what we find, that can mean:
- Order concrete by volume and confirm the required mix properties and delivery timing.
- Place the concrete from a truck chute, buggy, conveyor, crane bucket, or pump, as site access and the placement require.
What to Expect to Pay
Typical ranges, not a fixed price - the exact number is confirmed in writing before work starts.
